Lots of lurking; first post. I really like the looks of the tan/khaki Kahr Delica 4, but I want the standard FFG blade. Does anyone ever sell those Kahr scales, or is that idea a dead end?

You could get custom scales made that match the Kahr ones

EDIT: Didn't realize you just like the color. You could try RIT dyeing an FFG's scales.

I like the factory look of the FRN scales, but the combination of the stonewashed steel and the tan scales is what I'm after.

Stonewashing your own blade is not hard.

But you can't dye scales to a lighter color. Tan is fairly light. Don't know which base color of FRN you could start with.

Plenty of custom scale makers here could probably make some for you. It just might be cheaper to by a Kahr and swap scales then sell off the Kahr+FRN 'frankenknife'.

You could try dying the grey FFG Delica scales to a tan colour but they'd likely be darker. You could always buy a donor Delica, stonewash the blade, and buy a Kahr Arms Delica to swap the blades and lockbars out into the opposite handles.

Frankenknife has crossed my mind and is most likely the best way to go.
Example: Seller wanted Carbon Fiber scales for his Skyline Damascus. So he bought the Skyline S30V with CF scales at Xmas for $90 when BladeHQ had them on sale. He swapped the scales and sold the S30V blade+G10 scales 'Frankenknife' for $75 which I bought. So he got CF scales for only $15 and I got an S30V 'upgrade' for $25. Way cheap than either of us having custom work done. ;)

The only scales that would dye correctly would be the old white sprint.

That's what I was thinking.

Op: why not buy the Kahr delica and see if that blade shape doesn't grow on you. Worst case, like others have said, you can buy an FFG delica later and swap parts. I'm sure someone would pick up the remnants. A purple Kahr would be interesting.

After a lot of reading, that's what I'm thinking too. Like you say, I might end up with two Delicas! Not a bad outcome.
