Small and fairly light weight. Could fit in a pants pocket with a pocket holster.

The striker type trigger feels similar to shooting a double action revolver, perhaps a bit lighter in pull.

I don't like to add rubber onto the grips because there is a risk of a shirt bunching up on the rubber in concealed carry. However with such a tiny grip, and with rather aggressive jimping, I found I had to add it to this one. For me it made a world of difference. With the way the 40 cal kicks, my thumb sometimes hit the mag release button, which isn't something you want to happen randomnly. :)

As the manufacturer recommends, I put 200 rounds in it as a break-in period. During this time I had one failure to feed. I don't know if was operator error or just part of the break-in.

Disassembly is very simple. Not near as difficult as some youtube videos make it out to be.

I have definitely looked at picking one of those up. I've been thinking about the PM45, always been a better shot with .45.

What were your impressions after 200 rounds? Accuracy, time back on target, all that.

I bought a Kahr P45 yesterday, but the silly background check computer burned out so I have to wait until today to get it. :grumpy:

According to some mag articles, the P45 is just under a Colt Commander in most dimensions.

I'm not sure I'd be man enough for the PM45 with a hot round. But hard to know, it might shoot kinder than my PM40 with a hot round. :o

I very much like Kahr guns, as I own 2. Both are Elite 98's; one in 9mm & the other in .40. AWESOME guns.

Gotta be careful with the thumbs on those small framed autos, might have been riding the slide on that FTF. Always a bit of learning where to get everything situated on a new gun for me.

Yes there seems to more of a learning curve on it. Just no where to put my fingers and I don't have large hands.

Shoulda stuck to revolvers...:p

Nice, let us know how you like it. Funny thing, I've always been able to control .45 better than .40. .45 always seems to be more of a push back, .40 always snaps the barrel around on me and I find it less controllable. Go figure.

I agree with that. I actually set out for a PM9, but none were in stock and I had a bit of Obama fever so bought what was available.

I still enjoy it, but a 9 or 45 probably would work better for me.

I got the P9 and find it very accurate and a bit easier to shoot well than the smaller one. One of the things that always surprises me is that for some reason this gun is very quick to get back on target, giving me very nice double taps and 2 & 1s.

The .40 was just too sharp on the recoil for me, but as was said, I also find the recoil on a .45 friendlier- I'd love to try one of those!

I shot a P9 and I was impressed with the nice trigger - like a good DA revolver pull. The PM would not be good for me just like all the smallest guns as my large hand has nothing to hold on to !

I'd imagine the extra weight along with the great design would make them even better shooters.
They are GREAT shooters. I did a handgun class with the 9mm, and it performed OUTSTANDING. I trust this gun with my life. I have had thousands of rounds through this gun. I also have night sights on BOTH of my Kahr's.

as a lot of you guys know i love the poly frame kahrs, i prefer the 9MM but the .40 & .45 renditions are good too, imho they are the very best edc pistols around in a service calibre, slim, lite, very reliable and more accurate than i had imagined a pistol of this size to be, imho there isnt much not to like.

i also have a K9 and while it shares a lot of the poly kahrs pluses it is imho too heavy and imho isnt any easier to shoot vs the poly frame ones, which suprised me, while the P9 is easier to shoot well vs the PM9 there simply isnt any big difference between the K9 and the P9, i'm not sure i dont shoot the P9 a little better, i'll put it this way, i bought the K9 and it didnt kick my glock 26 or 33 outta my edc rotation while the P9 and PM9 did.

:D You only mentioned every chance that applied to the topic. I finally had to go look. So far, I'm darned glad I did.

Yesterday I shot the PM40 and then a SP101 DA only. Very similar, but the actual trigger pull felt "nicer" to me.
