Kai Pure Komachi 2

I have been using a kitchen knife from the dollar tree for about the last year, and while it is OK, I think I can do better.

I saw the KAI Pure Komachi online recently and it seems to get good reviews. Is it any better given it also is inexpensive, at the ~$10 price point? I know KAI does quality knives, but the price is hard to believe.
