In my endless search for the perfect EDC bag, not too big, not too small, doesn't look like a purse, I've been looking at the Kakadu canvas bags. In particular the Satchel and Utility bag. The only problem with the Satchel is no grab handle but I really look the rustic look. I recently bought a Timbuk2 messenger but it's still not exactly what I'm looking for. Not enough compartments. Problem is I can't find a lot of info on them. All the pics that I pull up are the same one and don't show the insides. Anyone have any experience with these or have any good pics. Really looking for pics of the insides and extra pockets. Will try to show what pics I've found but I need to find a new photo hosting site. This will be my EDC...first aid, paracord, firestarter, medicines, extra keys, etc.

Where are ya finding these? I have one of their jackets and it is top notch. I like the one of these with the pockets. However those large flaps make great ground covers to sit on if the ground is wet.

kakaduimports.com vtarmynavy.com are two of the places I was looking. I actually found them when I was looking for a canvas bag for our VBS Australian theme. Seems like lots of places have them but they all have the same picture and don't offer much in the way of descriptions. They also vary some in the size that they list for the satchel. They are suppose to be good quality but I would like to see a little more before I actually order one. Maybe I'll have to be the one to take the first step and post a review for everyone else. After spending the money for the Timbuk2 bag though it may be a little while.

I just found them on another site for $63.95. I did a search for kakadu bags. I also saw those two sites on my list of results but haven't found any further details. One of the other bags (the carry bag) is about the same capacity as the satchel same with the shoulder bag.

The top flap comes in handy to keep out weather an can supply something to sit on. However the satchell is just one big pouch whereas the other bags have several pouches for organization, but a smaller main pouch.

Depends on how you like to organize your gear.
