Since the first one was derailed.
Kali concepts & tactics embrace the use of the khukuri. As the new khukuri emrges from the hils of Nepal, it presents itself with a double edge. Check out the Chukhuri,at khukurihouseonline.com.

The checking hand in Kali, also known as the alive hand can benifit from the curved style of the Kuk.

Any one care to reply to the topic...

Hi All, I like kukris as a substitute for machete in my own training in Floro fighting Systems and find the cold steel LTC with its sharp point to really suit ME , it suits me as i dont have to break my wrist as i thrust/cut with it , a straight out arm movement ends with the point on target or a turn of the wrist turns it into a cut , not much not to like , everyone here is well aware of the cutting power of the kukri in untrained hands , but put in the hands of a kali or silat or escrima player and it becomes a seriously powerful one shot fightstopper. Im all for it, regards , Fishmonger .

As the Khukri is a large knife , I like the idea of being able to turn the knife & use it as a non lethal weapon. Since the blade is so heavy,it still causes damge.

A blade slap from kukri would certainly get someones attention , not to mention what "spining" them would do  though the possibility for a SERIOUS accident would see me avoid this , if its serious enough to have a kukri in your hand its serious enough to use it for its intended purpose , all the best , fishmonger.
