Kalinga, 401 vs. 408

Can someone explain why the 408 Kalinga Pro Fixed-Limited Edition, 5.25 inches, in S30V is $180.00 on the Buck website, while the 401 Kalinga in 420 HC, 4.75 inches, is $200.00? I would think an S30V blade would cost more. Thanks.

the 401 is a classic, but I must admit I like them both. I guess the tried and true model cost more, even without the superior S30V steel. again, both two of my favorite fixed blades

I just bought the Kalinga pro at Buck for $180. It was listed at $319 on Amazon so i thought that was a great deal.
And yes the Kalinga is listed at $200 but Buck collectors club members can get them for $100.
Reasons i went with the pro
3. Price was right and i like supporting the company.
2. The S30v, never had that steel before.
1.The knife looks darn awsome and the sheath is upgraded on the pro and looks great too.
