Does anyone have the Burlwood Kalinga B401-MT5-0.
I would like to know the wood species, guessing Maple but I do not have a COA with it.
Anyone have a COA with theirs that says what the wood is?
This was an issue of 100 and can be found on the 2006 SP list

Roger - I just looked and it doesn't say anywhere but I believe I remember it being box elder burl.
Mine is NIB but no coa. Just the "Natural Markings" note.

Thank you for the effort. Perhaps there was no COA. These were done for Sporting Goods Distributor Moteng. Two groups of 3, 401,402 and 901 in burlwood and black micarta.

There were 4 variations made in 2005 for Moteng. Ironwood, giraffe bone, elk, and buffalo in the 916, 401, and 976. They were sold individually or in boxed sets of one of each in the same serial numbers.
I can't remember how many were sold in sets versus individually. At the time I was a dealer and purchased thru Moteng and bought and sold several of each both individually and in sets.

There was also burlwood and micarta in 401, 402, and 901 and these were sold individually thru Moteng in 2006.

I have the Kalinga and the Akonua in Burl. I thought it was maple but after checking the boxes, no COA for either! That said, I have seen maple burl that light for sale, most is darker though. I recently has 3 Kalingas pros (406, 408 and 415 folder) done for me by Leroy Remer in the darker Maple burl and they are beauties.
