kalinga handle

i have a buck kalinga made in the 70's wood hinged box. in the book it says the handle is laminated wood-grain Buckarta?
i have heard of macarta what does this mean. also i would like to sell this knife and could someone give me an idea of what to ask for this knife? the knife and sheath are in very good condition the box is missing some of the brown material on the bottom of the box. thanks for your help

I sent you an email with the answer but will answer it here too, just in case someone else needs the info.
The very first Kalingas were advertised as having micarta handles. Then we started calling it Buckarta. It is the same stuff, we just wanted to give it a new name.
I have seen them selling for less than $100 on the online auctions. I would have thought that one, NIB, would be worth at least $150, but I don't see that on the auctions i have seen.
