Hi,
This is my first post in this forum. This place has been incredible for learning about knives.

I just bought a kalinga pro folder 419 online. I love the knife, but the blade has a scuff right next to the USA. The number on the box is 0419rws-b and the catalog number is 5994. Does the rws-b mean that the knife is B Stock, or did I just get a standard model with an imperfection?

I paid $100, with no mention of it being B-stock. I wanted to ask here before I ask the retailer.

Thanks in advance.
Ron

First off, welcome to the forums, rsolo!

Buck doesn't 'do' factory seconds for distribution to retailers. It is possible that one slipped through the cracks, as we are all human. If your retailer won't address your concerns, Buck certainly will.

And it might/will turn out to be a real "Buck" classic like the 110....Sv30,great blade shape, big enough for 99% of what you need cuttin....After I get a few more 112s...YEP!

Here are a couple of pics. Look near the usa and thumb stud. The pics don't quite do it justice. The marks may be better described as pitting or scoring. My fingernail hangs up on it when i run across it. I can try to get better pics if you want more detail.

Lots of the new knives have a B designation after the model number. Thats not a second or factory blemish knife (IMHO)
But that pitting doesnt look right either! Maybe it was overlooked?
Is the knife a user?

HHmmmm, it really shows up well in the first pic... Think he will mind it then if its to be used? Otherwise send it in to Buck, (or have him once he gets it) they will fix it up!

The retailer offered to replace the knife. It was a birthday gift for my dad, so i had to give it to him before returning it. He loves the knife. He looked at the pitting and didn't care. So, he'll be keeping the knife as-is.

Thanks for the responses.
Ron
