Kalinga Vs. Kalinga (

Well, I've seen a pic or two of peeps that have the new Kalinga.
I am curious about the impression of the new owners.
Especially about blade and handle form, fit, and function when compared to the older model or just by itself w/o another to compare with.

Thanks in advance...

The new Kalinga 406 is mighty nice,I have not used mine ....yet ,as I only
received it last week.

The handle fits my hand well ,it feels quick in the hand .
Not as boxy as the older models better grip and non slip.

It should make a great skinner.

The nylon sheath is going to be great for inclement weather .
I slid the Kalinga on my belt and it will be a very light carry for
a 10 1/8" overall length knife.
I think the addition of a horizontal strap would make it even easier
to carry .

I will have to give her a 10 at this time.

Thanks for the report Ron.
My 50th is in two weeks.
Maybe I'll add that to my wish list.
How long from order to receipt?

i love mine, my first Kalinga, I just use it for food prep in the kitchen. Razor sharp, cuts great!

I think most of you will like the new line of kalingas. Both folders have great action, and would be great field knives. Although i don't think most people would take the finely polished wood and brass of the 419 out in the woods. The fixed blades are pretty amazing as well, especially the 408. They all have good grip and handling, i don't think many people will be disappointed with these.

All i can tell you is that i used to build all the fixed blades that we make for a couple years. the only other tidbit i can give you is that i was promoted to another job in the facility and its freaking awesome. Sorry wish i could share more .
