So recently I started upgrading my sharpening equipment. I purchased a Kalamazoo 1SMVP. Seems like a quality machine. I’m use to HF 1x30.

I had it sitting on my truck bed. Lesson learned it shifted me not noticing it. The thing tipped over so I grab the motor and pull the knife clear at the same time. Thought I was good. Looked down and I cut the crap out of my left hand. Nothing that needed stitches. But lesson learned.

I just installed the Kallyrest on my machine. This appears to be a quality guide. I’ve not had a chance to use it yet as it’s raining like crazy and my wife would strangle me if I used it in the house. Instructions where easy to follow plus YouTube guides.

Sorry to hear about your minor accident. Hope it heals up quickly.

I did the how to install video for the KallyRest. I wasn't paid or compensated other than Mark thanking me a bunch of times. I'm curious if the video setup guide helped. At times I've thought it was a bit too long and maybe I should redo it.

I really like the KallyRest. I hope it works out well for you.

Brian.

Watching the video then the directions together made it super easy to put together.

The HF 1x30 does not move much at all on my truck bed. I went ahead and made a wooden foot so to speak for the Kalamazoo. I also put a layer of rubber horse mat on the bottom of it. Not sure what it exactly called but I’ve always called it horse mat. It’s the stuff they put in horse stables. The rubber is “grippy”. On my wood floor the thing did not move at all. If it does not work Imma build a small workbench that I can clamp or bolt it to.
