anyone know where to get a decent kama? wood handle but not a cheapo i cant seem to find one on the google!

Honestly I don't really have a purpose for them I'd just like a set that if I wanted to cut something with them they wouldn't flex around a blade of grass. But really I probably would never use them for anything.

I ask chiefly because there are lots of different kinds, and distinguishing between ones intended for tool use vs. weapon use is at least a good place to start.

I have a Japanese gardening kama. The only thing I use it for, and it excels at it, is cutting the wild raspberry canes under my fruit trees. I bought it from a gardening supply catalog years ago. I don't know the brand, it's stamped in Japanese on the handle. It's forged and it had the sharpest edge of any new tool I've ever bought.

I'd have to say use as weapon. Since I don't really intend to take up gardening. It's just a set of weapons I'd like to have but would like to have something decent in case I have to fight of mutant bunny rabbits or whatever.

Hanwei made a nice set a while back. You could probably dig up a place that has them if you look hard enough.
