do the kami medical sheaths fit the KLVUK's?, mine is 15.5".
also, i was using it to process fire wood today and the black coating came off a bit, is this normal? i thought it was baked on.

I have heard they do fit. Lot of folks buy them with their KLVUKS. Better wait for some owners though for a full report. They are nice sheaths. I used to have a few before I owned any HI blades for some Khuks I made from blanks. In fact the Kydex sheath (cold steel) made for those blanks is what my wife uses for her KLVUK so id say they gotta fit.

This is not the Kami sheath but I believe this Kydex was made for the same Camillus Carbon V blade (now Cold Steel) as the Kami sheath. KLVUK fits perfectly.
The black scale will eventually wear down in some spots. Mainly the high spots and near the edge where they get the most abrasions. Much of my chopping is on sandy wood so thats normal for me.

I have two and a third should be here tomorrow. The Kami Sheaths do work well for the KLVUK's.

The last two were a bit shorter but I asked Auntie to try them for fit and she said they fit well. Auntie spoke the truth as she always does.

I think the kami sheath is a perfect match for the KLVUKs.

That black on them they say is from the forging process, like a scale. I don't know much about metal, wish I'd taken some metal shop in school instead of all wood.

It's not applied as a finish per se, just a by product. Some take it of and do something different.

I kind of like the look myself. If mine ever wears off a bunch I'll try something else.

Every time ndog post a picture I feel the urge to send him some shoes. I'd guess size 11 but I'm sure he doesn't even know since he don't have no shoes.

I tried manning up some and going around barefoot, wife thought I'd lost my minds although she does it all the time. Only difference is it hurt more when I run into stuff.

I just never ever could go without shoes. Have a hard time wearing britches without a belt. Tarzan I guess I ain't.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Kami Sheath thread.

ndog, please tell me that kydex isnt from a cold steel $600 kukri , i had the $160 sk5 version and sold it. that thing stuck like glue in everything i hit with it.

9 1/2... I got fat feet! People want to buy me wallets too because I have a psychedelic duct tape wallet. Long as the inside is green it dont matter what the outside looks like!

my wallet looks like a atm machine, at least to my gf it does:(. need to get her a hobby that isnt ...spending my money, lol.
maybe you guys post a pic of a char chirra and i show it to her, and she buys one with her money.lol

...one can hope.

Sounds like she needs to buy a char chirra for you

Also I have the fund raiser sheath and it fits both of my KLVUK and a wide range of others.

Oh... I didn't try that. I have one of these Cold Steel sheath.

EDIT: And it's a tiny bit too small for my fat KLVUK. :-(

But the uber cheap sheath for the Cold Steel KUKRI Machete works ok. Perfect angle but little too long.

Hey it worked with my wife cept she still uses my money. She got my first KLVUK and I gave her my old Kydex CS sheath. Now she has a Kumar Karda, couple of Kags, hmmm? What else? It can work but it can backfire too! Now everytime I get a triangle package in the mail she's already home to intercept it before me. If she likes it then well guess what? Yep its hers! So im back to sharkin! Its "our" money i guess but I put a big arse resistor between my paycheck and her shopping but it is still "our" money:confused:

Phil: Id lke to see that suit someday!

Sno: I think i read somewhere that they did modify the KMRF sheaths to better fit HI blades so your findings may reflect this? Total speculation tho. The sheaths I bought many years ago looked identical to the KMRF one even the plastic dring at the end etc. Identical in appearance. I believe they were coming from stock when the Camillus factory closed the doors and were sold off. The Khuk machettes had a different sheath that was also available from private stocks but they were not like the one you pictured. They were leather. The blank blades were sold off as well but the ones that had already been etched with co. logo got ground off and werent so pretty. Some blanks existed without the logo so they were more desirable. Guess Ill have to get a KMRF on my next HI order. I need one for my KLVUK anyway. Hope im not stepping on anyones toes mentioning this. It was super cool of someone to donate these sheaths for the good of the Kamis and its still helping them. Hats off to whoever did this!

Thanks again; the list has been re-updated.

If anyone else has any additions to the list (knives that fit in the fundraiser sheath), please let me know.

I really hadn't thought to try others in the sheath, I kind of peg em like holsters, one knife, one sheath, one gun, one holster but I think I will.

I got Pugs in the back of my head all the time to dress just about anything. The number of blades that need his attention continues to grow.

And now that I know he's not a used up feeble old man with a walker I'm hoping not to go so easy on him. He does good stuff. Beavers hate him but I'm kind of partial to him myself, not in any mano mano way ya understand.
