Hi all!

I just ran into interesting knives made by Kanetsune. Seems pretty nice, but price is high too. Does anyone has any experience of Kanetsune knives?

They seem to be very traditional japanese knife makers with long traditions in steels.

I've been drooling the Kanetsune Sakura. Locally costs 175€ / $260.
Steel is 15 layered Damascus steel with oak and cherry tree handles.

picture of Sakura. Lovely looking knife.

I have three Kanetsune knives. The Shinobi, Katana, and Ten, all are collectors, I purchased them for the damascus.

I can't speak to "user' performance, since I don't use them, but they certainly seem to be solid, well built knives.

The blades are thick and heavy giving the knife a robust feel.

Not too much more I can tell you.

I owned couple back days, kind of regret selling them (money money money).
I bought them from japan, costed half the price back then and delivery costs mere 7 dollars. They don't sell them anymore, seems like they only sell them to big retailers nowadays. I only used the other one, but not that much. Other one that I didn't use was like the one you linked but in shiny black lacquer finish. Really nice and well made, but you don't really want to use so nice knives. The wooden sheath was unique for me as westener, but it rattled.
