Hey guys, I am working on a cool wakizashi for a show in a few weeks (this one might even be coming to Blade with me) and I thought I would share a few pics.
This one is in a Kanmuri-Otashi style grind. This was seen mostly, to my knowledge on shortened/converted Naginata.
I gave this one a ton of sori. Blade length is around 16" and will be just over 23" oal.

Pre HT hand sanding.

Very very nice. Your work is a neat, clean, high and tight, joy to behold. Attention to detail is superb.

Ben that looks AWESOME!

Can't wait to see the progress.:)

Nice grinding challenge! :]

Splendid design - I'm looking forward to this Ben

Thanks so much guys! I finished this one up, and I am just now getting pics together. It will be coming with me to the OKCA show this weekend, although it is now spoken for.

Here I am hand sanding, there was a lot of that on a blade this size in 3V.

Finished blade.

Parts ready to mount. I went with a zirc tsuba on this one.

Before I finished mounting and wrapping the blade, I built the saya. This one is a tero tuf core that will be wrapped in carbon fiber.

Back to handle. Finished wrap ready for epoxy. I used black stingray and Zirc menuki.

Here is the sheath all finished up. I like leaving a bit of the texture of the carbon fiber, which is reminiscent of an urushi finish for me.

Next up, finished pics.....
