Myself, and a couple of other knifemakers from Kansas, are working to form a Kansas Knifemaker's Association. We plan to pattern our group similar to the Arkansas and Oklahoma knifemaker associations. Our goal is to share information and techniques between the members as well as promote the work of the many fine knifemakers in Kansas. We will have information and skill sharing meetings with the membership and hope to have an annual knife show in Kansas. Membership is open to all forms of knifemaking; as well as collectors and any other interested parties.

We have contacted all knifemakers in Kansas that we currently have information on. If we have not already contacted you, please send me your contact information and I will add you to our list. You can send me an e-mail, or call me, if you do not wish to post your information on the forum. We plan to have a meeting some time this summer to formalize the group and discuss our next steps.

Steve, Will you be allowing bladesmiths from neighboring states to be come associated? I currently live just 10 miles north of the Kansas line in Nebraska. I'm really interested in what you are trying to achieve with such an organization.

Thanks
Dave from Diller

Dave,
We would be very happy to have you as a member of our group. We welcome anyone who wants to join. The Arkansas and Oklahoma associations were gracious enough to allow me to join them; far be it from me to not allow out of Kansas members in our group. Send me your contact information and I will put you on our list.
