I'm thinking about getting a Colibri and a Volans but have heard nothing about either manufacturer or these particular knives.
If anyone has any info for me I'd love to hear it. Thanks

Though not the specific models you mentioned, I've had knives from both manufacturers.

Had a Trivisa UMa-05 in s35vn and had a Kansept mini Accipiter also in s35vn. Mind you that both of these are some of their more "premium" knives, but as far as overall quality, f&f, action etc, both were great knives.

So I'd say go for it if your wanting one..

Kansept is interesting in that seems to be made up of people who broke away from Kizer. (I've heard rumors that they were the people who had been making the popular but short-lived Tangram brand of budget knives in Acuto 440.) The few I've had have been decent. One thing that bothers me is that in an age when most companies use captured pivots, Kansept seems to have free-spinning pivots at all price levels. It might not be a big deal but as an amateur tinkerer, it bugs me.

Trivisa is fairly new, at least in their Western exposure. I've only had their budget stuff but I've had a few. The overall quality, QC, fit and finish, etc. seem to be okay. The examples I've had are not as good as Kizer or WE's budget stuff (Civivi and Sencut). They are closer to what I've seen from QSP or Miguron. My favorite model from them has been their Lynx in 14C28N. If you go with the Volans, I hope you'll share your experiences about it here.
