I usually prefer traditional knives to traditional style knives, but this time I decided it might worth it. And I can say it is. Nice little knife itself, it got a bit more fancier look with damascus blade and brass covers.
The damascus blade is claimed to be made from some sort of stainless steel, which one exactly "is a production secret" as Kansept told me. "It is stainless, like from Damasteel, but not Damasteel, a proper chinese equivalent" they added. Alright, I wouldn't even mind a classic carbon steel damascus. The long pull (ish) is kind of very modern interpretation of the classic, not really a fan of that detail, but can bear.
Brass on the handle has something like a sandwash over something like a satin. I might prefer it be mirror polished, but I have an experience of brass getting a pretty unpleasant patina which tends to reappear (after polishing it off) just by itself, even if I would not carry or even touch it after the procedure. So I'll try a solution from Kansept. It isn't really heavy as a pocket knife, around 3,5 oz. or a bit more, but, strangely enough, in that particular size it feels very heavy, like I am holding a rock.
Mechanics (not sure if walk-and-talk term can be used for a subject) are surprisingly good, pretty solid. Easy and secure one hand closing is present.
One detail I'm not sure about is black details, like pivot, screws, and locking bar. I do prefer them black usually, but here they just seem to be out of place for some reason. Though I can't really think which color they should've been done it instead, so no hard feelings really.
I actually ordered a copper one, but Kansept contacted me and said that unfortunately copper version is discontinued and unavailable anymore. They asked if I wish to get a brass version instead, and I agreed. No regrets so far I must say.
Feel free to post pics of your Wedge/Bevy model! Also would appreciate pics of the copper version.
