Not sure if this is the right forum but:
Has anyone ever managed to get themselves "bit" by their karambit while doing absent-minded twirling, you know, while watching t.v. or something?

Let’s see if we can find the right forum …

Playing with live blades will do that to you, certainly if you admit to the "absentmindedness".

* pfff *
NO real Mall Ninja has ever been bitten by his own knife!
(( sneer ))

On the other hand, I believe Warren Thomas specifically designed the Spyderco Kerambit to knick a finger every time you close it.

Ah dang, guess I'm not ready for mall ninja-hood yet.:D
Those Super Karambits super suck when the tip sticks in your wrist.:eek:
Man, Kung-fu wrecked my ankles, letting me know I'm not Chinese, now the Karambit has let me know I'm not Filipino or Indonesian; I'm beginning to think I'm not ANY kind of Oriental at all.:p
Guess it's back to straight, European/American/Canadian style knives for me.

Absentmindedly is the only way I've ever injured myself with knives.:)
When I'm actually practicing techniques or using them for real, tool usage, I end up being okay.
I'll still practice with the Karambit, Civilian, and other oddly shaped blades, but I'm going to leave the flipping and spinning to those in the circus, and those martial artists who feel an odd desire to flip everything they can.
It was all very funny how it happened, because earlier in the night my fiance said, "I really don't like when you spin those knives aroung." 6 hours later, I got to experience that odd feeling of the knife being stopped in it's rotation by flesh(ICK!!!).
Shoulda listened to the woman(what else is new, eh?:)).
