Hey folks,

A buddy of mine lost his karambit while out crawling through the bushes in the desert, and I thought I'd make him a new one for his birthday...

One problem. I have never made one and never really messed with one before.

Any good places to look at a bunch of karambit designs?

I looked here on bladeforums with the custom search engine, but most of the threads I found were about folders and other topics.

This is going to be a fixed blade, Micarta/g10 handled knife with a kydex sheath.

Any ideas?

I’ve made a couple. The only thing that worked for me was drawing them out on paper, then making a couple mockups out of wood.
They’re difficult to make right.

Also if you’re making one with a blade 90° to the handle, the sheath is easier if one whole side isn’t fastened in order to deploy it quickly. The guys I made them for were purists so they were very specific how the blade was and how their fingers needed to be flush while holding it.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll check out the designs you suggested!

And so it begins.

The spring is from my buddies truck. He upgraded his suspension shortly after buying it and I figured it would be a fun way to make a birthday present.
