Hello,

I'm seeking recommendations are a nice quality fixed blade Karambit. It doesn't need to be fancy, I don't need a nice wood handle, don't need a Damascus blade, etc. It just needs to be made in the US by a reputable maker. If I can be picky, I can't stand that look like you'd find them in a case next to dungeons and dragons and leather duster jackets. I prefer classic styling and lines. Ideally would be $160 or less.

Thanks!
JA

Hogue EX-F03 has been on my radar for a while.
I prefer the clip point but the hawkbill isn't overly aggressive.
Tops, Ontario, or Emerson if you want to spend a little more.

thanks for the recommendation, hogue just has clip point and shallow hawk points. I'm looking for a fully curved traditional shape on.

You may want to look at the Extrema Ratio. I think if’s at a higher price point than what your looking for but I thought of mentioning it. I know nothing about it other than what I’ve read.

Thanks for the recommendation, but that thing is junk. Very overpriced, stamped, mystery metal, made in china junk. For that price I know of at least a few knife makers that I could get a custom one from.

So, you seem to be looking for a nicely made traditional style Indonesian or Filipino kerambit. Why made in the USA? Why not go to the source and get a nice real kerambit from a maker in the region that the knife is from? There are several on-line sources that have very nice, very simple kerambits.
Thing is though $160 is a bit low for a real nice example, especially one made in the US by a reputable knife maker.

never said I was only looking for something made in the US. One made in Indonesia or the Philippines would be fine.

oh. haha. so i did. sorry for the mixed message. I'm open to something made in the region the style came from...South Pacific. I'm just not interested in a $100 piece of junk. Needs to be quality not something found in a case at magic card shops next to the pewter dragons and leather duster jackets.

For my very first Karambit I got this one (on sale $32) Boker Mangum per my knife & sword expert friend's recommendation and I can not be happier. I found out I do not really like Karambits but this one is actually the only one I will keep. Very EDC friendly to carry, flips open fast, fits in hand well and was cheap enough if I hated it I would not lose money on it.

P.S. Please make sure you also buy a fake dull Karambit $10 on ebay if you want to learn how to play and dance with it. I nearly cut my nerves (front side of the hand & veins where the blade goes during the circle flipping) and was lucky, if I did cut them that could have cost me the health of the whole hand, since repairing nerves via surgery is not easy, so I stopped doing those stupid flips and circle dances with it, I open flip it hold it in defensive position, throw couple of boxing punches, close it and put it to rest.

Wow, yikes. definitely not planning on twirling it. I would never buy a flip out Karambit, especially not a liner lock one. If that thing breaks free and collapses, you’re toast. Was planning on getting an actual trainer blunt version to learn with

Have you seen the CRKT Provoke? A folder thats not quite a folder when its open and can't close on your hand.
