Well, you can't beat ingenuity! No reason that wouldn't work.
I sharpen a buddy of mine's karambit with my diamond rods. Start at 600g, then to 1200g. He uses it to open boxes. I charge him a cigar (or a snort or two) and it screams when done.
But... no snack! May have to rethink my process...
