Hello, this is my first post and would be greatful if anyone can help. I recently baught the Emerson Combat Karambit and now im looking for anyone in the North East who teaches the use of the Karabit. Failing that I would like to hear if anyone Knoes of good training material that is available in the UK. I am also lookig for information on training with the pocket stick. Thanks.

Blaise Loong has 2 excellent dvd's out this year on a short knife fighting system called " Silat Sabungin" which encompases the karambit. He is also available for personal training. Look him up on the web or e-mail me and I will give you all the detailed info. I don't think I am allowed to give out his web sites or e-mail here as that would be considered advertising. But look up my profile here and give me an e-mail and I will get back to you directly. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I looked him up on the net the DVDs look intresting, but I dont think i can play them cos i've only got a region two player. As for private tuition I'd love it but the distance and cost rules it out.:grumpy:

Blaise is working on transcribing the notes from the dvds. Putting the drills and techniques down on paper with photos to go along with it. It will be a solid guide to use. Let me know if you are interested and I will give you a shot out when it is done.

Steve Tarani has a pretty extensive site with his book, knives, videos, etc., as well as FAQs at www.karambit.com.

Edited: That site links to the server, so try www.contactdefense.com (his LEO/Civilian training site), click on links, then go to his karambit site...sorry I'm not more technically savvy!

I've seen Steve work with the Karambit, and it is scary, both the fancy and the practical stuff.
