I am looking at getting a Karambit. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice which may help me find the right one?

I just got an Emerson Combast karambit. It loks up like Fort Knox and is damn sharp.

i would also recommend the emerson line.

i have the combat kerambit folder. as mentioned, an excellent sd knife, and nothing is faster opening than the wave.

eki also makes a fixed blade version. both are reasonable priced, imo.

if i was gonna get a k'bit (i'm not) i would get a cutter knife & tool k'bit, or in 2nd place a EKI k'bit.

why??

i like the angle of the blade on the CK&T ones and they also have some cool designs, a couple different types of k'bits.

but EKI k'bits are good too and are waved.

i dont care for k'bits though, YMMV.

I carry an emerson karambit after boiling my selection to that and the tarani masters model. As I have already been spoiled by the wave, and the dimensions of the emerson make it easier to discreetly carry, I went with that. The tarani is still a pretty good unit which I'd probably pick up once my liquidity issue frees up.

Folder- Cutter Knife & Tool or Spyderco Warren Thomas

Fixed- Derespina Model 10

I carry a CK&T Bengal K-bit.

BK6

Is Emerson the only MFG making a folding K-Bit with the Wave feature?

The Wave is what makes it for me. If not for that, I wouldnt carry a Karambit.

Get the 5.11 tactical tarani master Karambit.

It has S30V steel and G10 handle.

I had a emerson but I sold it and kept the tarani.

Not to mention it's a little cheaper and has better steel than the Emerson.

IMO Emerson are top notch SD knives... But I found they go dull very quickly if you cut with them every day. I think it's due to the 154cm steel and the chisel ground blade.

If you going purely for a SD knife that wont be used for everyday cutting go Emerson.

If you're planning on cutting stuff other than flesh go with the 5.11 tactical Karambit.

If you put a ziptie through the opening hole in the blade of the 5.11 it gives it the wave feature. I have already done it to mine.
