Has anyone here looked into the various Karambits out on the market lately? I am just curious as to how they actually feel. I prefer my knives straight but I do like certain karambit designs. One I am interested in is the Tarani Kerambit. Is it worth the $$$. I recently held the Spyderco version and was not impressed. Just my opinion. Thanks.

There is a rescue kerambit on the market with orange G-10 handles and a blunt tip 440C blade. The price is a little stiff for me though. www.moteng.com shows an up-coming Vtech kerambit that should be available soon. I think I'll get that one to see how well the blade style will work for me. I really think being able to "twirl" the knife around on my finger is what interests me in the kerambit. :D

Mr. Lawson,

I'd highly encourage you to get out there and attend some shows or find some local enthusiasts.

:)

Karambits, I've found -even at my rather "beginner" level- are rather personal devices, and their design features and variations, including even simple sizing and ergonomics, can tremendously influence your perception of their worthiness as a self-defense tool or even "just" a collection piece.

Aside from that, look for the Karambit.com Forum. ;) Great place that welcomes *_all_* Karambit discussion, not only those limited to the Blade-Tech/Karambit.com offerings.

First I had the Spydie. Found the SS too smooth. I am a cutter more than a collector. Blood has the vescostiy of baby oil and it would have been hard to hold onto. Then I saw the Punisher so I had to add the EKI Kerambit to my collection so I sold the Spydier. The EKI is the heat. Especially with the wave feature and super fast. William at www.texastacticalsupply.com had them for $159.00 and his service rocks.
