Karda and Chakma

The karda is a small knife blade in a pouch an the back of a kukri sheath. It is the one that is usually the same shape as the kukri. The chakma is the edge burnisher for the kukri. It's used like a shapening steel to reform the edge of the kukri. some also say it is used to strike sparks from the piece of flint in the bouch on back of sheath.

These are the 2 that are included with most kukri, but some had up to 10 tools in the sheath. The funnist in my mind is the button hook. Some also had a small prayer book in the sheath.

The best way to info about this is to go to the Himilayan Imports forum (under manufactures) and ask those guys or just do a search of the achives.
