I just got 2 small boxes from H.I. tonight. A very nice surprise after a long, hard work week.
I got the 14", 9oz Kumar Karda with the Antler handle on 2/14 DOTD. And the 8.5", 7oz YCS Karda with carved Chandan handle by no-name Kami from the 2/15 DOTD.
Side by side....
Here's the handle on the No Kami name YCS. Very nice carving!!!
Very nice feel to the Antler handle on the Kumar Karda. The balance point is just in front of the Bolster.
The little YCS handle is a bit short for my medium sized hand and it balances just at the front of the handle.
Both of these knives are unique. The little no Kami name YCS is just as well made as anything I've seen from H.I. so don't let the lack of a kami mark put you off from snarking these up when offered. I'm keeping this one for myself.
The antler handled Kumar Karda is just beautiful. Very nicely balanced. It just plain feels good  This one is going to my Brother-In law for his Birthday next month. He just got back from Camp Cooke in Taji, Iraq a few months ago.
