What the heck is a concentrated yeast extract!?

Do they sell it in the USA?
 
It's Vegemite! You know, from the Men at Work song. ;)

It tastes like concentrated yeast extract.

No joke.

Somebody told me you're only supposed to use a tiny amount, but others have said they slather it on.

One taste was enough for me though.

When I think of concentrated yeast extract, I think of the bottom of a Belgian Quadruple Ale.:o
 
Never had Vegemite, but Marmite is awesome (also yeast extract)! It's an acquired taste for sure, but very delicious. Use sparingly.

Also, nice cutlery!

it's basically brewers yeast protein, a byproduct of beer production. Because if there's anything that makes a man out of a boy, it's spreading beer on his toast :thumbup::D

Vegemite is a staple in our house. Every moring on toast with 2 pounds of butter on each slice. :thumbup:
