Karl Andersen made the steel and I built the knife so I guess it could be considered a collaboration. The steel was easy to work with and the patten is great. I think that as I use pieces that are closer to the center of the bar I will see more pattern. When I received the bars they were a little thick so I drew them out and made them a little thinner. I really wanted to see what the steel would look like ground into so I made a knife out of it.

Here are the finished pics. This is model is the Puffin. The blade is 2-3/8in long, 1in wide and made of Karl Andersen twisted "W"'s damascus. The scales are carbon fiber. Titanium liners and backspacer. I did some chipped texturing on the backspacer inside and out. Ti thumbstud and clip as well. Overall length is 5-3/4in.
Let me know what you think,
Chuck

I've always liked this model folder of yours, and Karl's steel looks terrific in this application.

As an addendum to this thread, I forged that piece of steel over at Hank Knickmeyer's right after the Blade Show this year.
