Karl Gogarten?

For my birthday I picked up a straight razor from an antique store I was perusing. It says Karl Gogarten Solingen 156.
While I realize it's probably worth about what I paid for it which was not much, I bought it to use and it works really well for that. I have never heard of Karl Gogarten and can't find anything about the name.
Any ideas? Good name? Decent steel?
Good or bad I'd like to know.

All I could find in my searches was a feedback listing on ebay where one sold for 16.50 euros and a German web site with a little bit of information on it, but I had to use Google Translate to read it and we all know how well that works.

Not much information for you, but I am not a straight razor guy, I like my old Gillettes

Thank you sir. That was the best I could do too. I think I may find that although it may or may not be worth the steel it was made with, as long as I like it, it will be worth it's weight in gold.

Not to send you off to another forum but the guys at SRP often make quick work of razor identification.
