Anyone familiar with the Karrimor rucsacs, specifically the 50-70 Global? Anyone with a 70-90 Global, although I believe the 50-70 should be fine for my needs, your feedback would be equally helpful, of course. These will be more familiar to our friends in the U.K.; is there something similar in design and quality here in the U.S.?

Thanks,
Glen

Nice packs from looking at their site.

Also find it funny that they have Alaska and the USA listed separately...LOL

Berghaus seem a lot more popular than Karrimor, looking around, but that might be 'cos they're a bit cheaper.

I personally use a cheapish rucksack, a Wynnster Mistral 40, but I only usually put lunch and a cagoule in it, as I don't walk too far. It's been OK. so far.

Andrew.

Hey Temper,

Thanks for the Berghaus link. (How are the contracts looking?! Swarovski calls, yes!?)

And thanks for your comments, too, AWUL. I like the Beghaus Shadow in the link above and the Karrimor Global for their versatility -- for air travel, and for backpacking on the other side of the flight. The stowaway shoulder harness and belt, and the detachable daypack, are very nifty features. Wish there was somewhere nearby I could check them out...

Glen

Hey, Yes the Swarovski is calling, alas, the contract seems to be fading :grumpy: I may have to wait for up to 6 months to find out, so alternate employment seems the way to go! Ewww! I might come out in a rash if I actually have to work lol

I have a Berghaus Crusader (100L) that I had in the Army. They are tough as a nickle steak to coin an American eupherism.
