My wife dont appreciate a sharp heel on a knife and thats the first thing she saw on this knife! I was kinda wondering why she was attracted to it but it now makes sense even if I dont agree. It also has plenty of space for them fingers underneath the handle so you can rock the blade and chop stuff without messin with your purdy tender knuckles. Its wide enough so you can slide it up and down your knuckles when chopping veggies so I think it will be a really well designed knife. It no doubt must be one they use in Nepal for general kitchen duties and I can now see why. I personally love a sharp heel but my wife notices holes in the kitchen towels and such and thats where she gets that. When she washes the blade the heel snags on you cloth and she dont like it. Well I just wipe it from the other direction and use the heel to chop but she dont so I understand. Lets see what she thinks when she sees it. Im just hoping she dont think its too heavy but if you got a big strong girl capable of kicking your own butt then she might like this blade alot!
I have my Farmcata but lets see what happens here? Ill update yall later on!

Random idea based on your story above:

First impressions can be important, and this might improve that first impression for your wife…

When you get the knife, have some herbs or other thin veggies to mince with a rocking motion. A knife this shape/weight will feel magical for this task, as the weight of the knife will do almost all the work - you just have to keep it rocking.

If you start her off cutting potatoes and filleting a salmon she might not have as much fun. ;)

Just a thought - I’m sure you’ll enjoy it however it’s used. 👍
