Katadyn Change

I was checking out the Katadyn Pocket Filters to see how much they had changed from mine.

I noticed that they are now considered a "filter" instead of a "purifier".

When were they downgraded? I was always under the belief that they were rated as purifiers. Was there a change in ratings??
