This is a standard katana made and marked by Sanu. The only thing I can find wrong with this rig is some rust damage on the blade which I couldn't get into a decent picture. Anybody who is handy in blade finishing and polishing can bring this blade back to mirror finish in an hour or two. If you are not good at rust removal and polishing you can send this rig to Terry Sisco and I'm betting he will bring it back to magic stone mirror finish for less than fifty bucks. If he doesn't I'll pay the difference.

Because of the rust we will discount that excellently done katana by Sanu $50.

We will deliver this katana to your door for $195 and that's a pretty decent deal.

Call or email if interested.

PS: That's protective tape on the scabbard tip. It has a brass chape but not as big as the tape.

Thank you, Mccld778.

A little naval jelly, a little polishing.

And all the while that I'm working on it, humming that old Bing Crosby tune, now how's it go?

"The bells of St. Mary's are ringing again..."

( being facitious - St. Mary's RMC was the place I had the misfortune to spend ten days of hell.)

Good 'ol Naval jelly, another essential ingredient in the sharpoholic medicine cabinet.
Although I once had a girl get rather angry at me 'cause I mentioned it during some conversation and she though I wanted to do something less than decent with her bellybutton.
I explained after I got up off the floor where I'd fallen from laughing so hard. Let me tell you, laughing at her didn't help my situation any.

I know it's unfair Rusty, but just because they got to operate on you, does not mean you get to return the favor with the katana.

And a very good catch it was indeed.
I have had thoughts about a katana ever since I got too see and handle one at T-Bones.

"VEGETARIAN".............
Indin word for lousy hunter.

Choji Sutra oil mixed freshly and waiting to annoint it after we get that other gunk off.

It'll like it down here, and have lots of friends. 5 foot war sword, 4 foot bastard sword, light cavalry saber, "wristbreaker" civil war sabre, rapier, and lots of nepali company to talk to.

Unless I have a real surprise in store, the handle groove will have to go. Matter of fact , the wood handle may go if I can afford the coral, turquoise and silver.

Checked and Uncle Bill said he got it in the mail Monday and 2PM Pacific time. But no sign of it Tuesday AM or PM. Post Office opens in the morning Wednesday in 10 hours, 22 minutes from now. Will it be there? Has it gotten lost? Stay tuned.

IT GOT HERE!!!

Incidentally, though Uncle Bill calls it the Everest kat would it be more proper to call it a dao ( or ? else ), as it has a more mainland/thai/viet flavor to it than japanese. Just seems that way to me, what to the rest of you owners think?

I love it already. Lighter blade than I expected, thinner, less deep. Fine by me, makes it quicker. And a sraighter, less curved blade. Plenty long enough. Couple minor bobbles, one on spine and one on blade that a perfectionist ( hi there! ) would insist on touching up. Handle is nice. Grooves will go, but not a rush job.

Now to the sad part. Rust is fairly widespred, but apparently superficial. It just breaks my heart to see the poor blade in misery. Will move it out of trunk into garage and give it TLC as soon as my wife takes a walk.
