Here is a very special piece to me that I've been waiting a long time to do a video on but it required some professional photography that Jim Cooper was gracious enough to provide at last weekends NY Custom Knife Show

Happy Thanksgiving

Man that is one bad Katana, I bet it was even more awesome in person.

Thx Craig

Here is a video from the History Channel video that features Louis Mills

that's one badass ninja sword!

Stunning piece. Love every aspect of it. The ratio of tsuka to blade is interesting. Gets me thinking...

The pups kill me, bud. Just nothing better than a blocky-headed dog.

Did Rick do the polish on that as well? Does anyone know if he's still not making traditional nihonto anymore? Heard he got out of it...

As far as I know he did for the polish and I do not know if he is still making swords

He is very talented

A truly special weapon, especially the blade. That kind of craftsmanship makes it easy to understand your fascination with Japanese cutlery.

Good stuff Joe. An heirloom piece for sure.

"Striking" is definitely the word for this sword. The ringed saya and the living hamon are my favorite features. That is one wild-looking blade, thanks for showing it, JParanee.

Thank you all

I've seen a lot of very nice swords in my life and this one is a true standout

I just heard today that Rick Barrett is not forging swords anymore

Does anyone know if that is true ?

Joe was kind enough to let me handle this at the NYCKS and it truly is a one-of-a-kind piece !

Coop did a tremendous job showing the hamon in that close-up, but of course in person it has even more subtle nuances.

Balance is beautiful, workmanship is exceptional. It's too bad if Rick is longer making swords:(
