Does anyone know anything about owning/giving/lending/selling/etc. Katana swords in California?

also, any swords in general?

Owning a FB is fine, transporting and selling's fine. I see swords often at malls and so far, there has not been a report of legal action against them.

Other than that, stay sane and not go "The Gathering" mode. :D

As long as it is open carry and you aren't brandishing it, then you are fine, as far as I know.

ok, but to inquire further, CAN you legally wear it in public, sheathed, as long as the city doesn't have a blade length ban in place?

(d) Knives carried in sheaths which are worn openly
suspended from the waist of the wearer are not
concealed within the meaning of this section

It's fine if your city has no limits whatsoever on blade length. But would you really want to carry one? :D

That would be neat if a perp came up to you with a switchblade and you asked "You call that a knife?" Then pulling out your sword (a la Croc Dundee) say "Now this is a knife! :D :D :D
