Hey y'all!
Would love a website/company in which I can get a user Katana for under $500. Was scouring the internet, but through my googling and BF searches, I can't find a concise opinion. I've been looking at TFW Samurai Set of three for 1k$, but I'd love to just shoot for the katana, well made, and ready for cuts.
Thanks!

The only thing I would like to recommend is ColdSteel 88k series. You can't find anything even similar at this price range.

Check out Kult of Athena, a great site and good people. Also, look over Cheness; they get a lot of undeserved bad press from the snobs, but well done katana.

Came to this thread to say Kult of Athena. Lowest prices on swords basically anywhere, and great customer service. Plus they're all labeled "battle ready" or not.

Check out Paul Chen/Hanwei as Madcap Magician suggested. They are some of the nicest Katanas I have seen in this price range.

They are also made to feel and behave like a true katana unlike some other brands like cold steel where the sword does not balance/feel like a real katana in hands or in use. (Due to the cold steel katanas being thicker and heavier than a true katana)

If I was in your position I would be going with paul chen/hanwei hands down.

There’s also Sato sword forge who look like they have some nice offerings but I have no experience with them.

I reccomend a sub $150 1045 1060 edge hardened katana to see if you like katanas in the first place. Whic is to bend like a nager

Dont bother with any brands of katanas here like cheness, cold steel. If all you care about is the brand, at least go with Ronin Katana.

Agree that Kult of Athena is good people. So is TFW. You have to ask yourself why is a cheap katana like object cheap.

If you are looking for a sword that you would actually use, Look at the offerings from Zombie Tools of Missoula, Montana.

And if you want something a little different, they can accommodate you, as the blade is made AFTER you order it. (there is unfortunately a wait)
