I just got done doing another 100 cuts (for practice against air not on someone else) and I have to say that she is a keeper. I have been playing with her for awhile studying and feeling her balance, and I am beginning to really know the length and timeing that goes with her.

At first the main problem I had with the blade was the lack of distel taper. You have probably heard it before, that a sword with no distel taper is clunky and has a certain lack of liveliness yadda yadda yadda... And this is true to a certain extent.

Now I like it, ALOT, it is stronger and more likely to survive a crappy cut in a live "HOLY TOLEDO" situation. Cool thing is that it is almost the exact weight of my Subrito. Although the Kat is 16cm shorter (9") it is still a great combo.

I will have an opportunity to test cutting this summer, if I am lucky and the stars are correctly aligned. So lets hope for the best.

Bottom line is that if you want a great beater, get the HI.

P.S. Although I turned 21 a few weeks back she is still my 'bump in the night' rig. In my 2 room apt and with 3 years of training with a stick I think it fits the bill. (Thinking about a Mossberg 500 to accomodate the space next to her on the wall, but not so sure for lack of training.)

Still, I have to admit there's something about my 48" Del Tin 2143 War Sword ( the 59" Ravenna keeps getting poked into the ceiling at the most inopportune times, wouldn't you know! ).

Since some rumors (as "secret project") on the forum, I've been interested in Everest Katanas. It's partially because of expected quality from my HI khukuris, and some reports from WWII time about "spring katana" that said its tremendous effectiveness, and toughness. Now that SD's complimenting user reports...

I'll speed up saving up mileage, and start searching for large suitcase more seriously.

Yep, but don't come right now, oi. My old pal who is now president of the ABA just bought the last four katanas I had in stock.
