Katana

I was wondering what the blade material is on that Katana. Is it the traditional Folded blade or just bar stock?

Thank you Matt,... your correct!
In addition to that, our swords are clay tempered. Providing a differential tempered, softer spine compared to the edge.

If Mr. Pioreks' katana are anything like the Kwaiken I have, they are great pieces. I was lucky enough to get my hands on an older prototype piece of his with the differential temper and it is wonderfull. It has performed totally as expected (which for the money was a pretty high expectation). I can only imagine his work has improved since the time he made that piece.....

I have a JSP "Spec Recon" in a spinal backup, a "Kozuka Agent" in an executive shoulder harness. I also have a pre-"Alpha" that is very similar to the current model CKB-ALPHA but has a wrapped handle and I use it as a neck knife (Serial #69521). I NEVER leave the house or business without at least a combination of 2 of these knives. They have served me extraordinaraly well in the last few years! All three are still razor sharp and look new! If his Katana is crafted like the products I have been proud to own, they are worth the wait and the price!! I can say that about VERY few things in life.

James is a great artist that I had the pleasure to meet in Vegas a few years back. A buddy of mine (Doc) who got me the first "Spec Recon" as a gift, and the other two I've had to barter very hard for at other dealers tables. They always bring high dollars, but once someone has one, they usually are treaured. I'd recommend one to anyone who is serious about carrying a concealed blade!
