You will all remember how quickly the 9 inch Kathathu, the limited edition, triple grind fixed blade, sold out!

Well, we listened and now I am happy to let you know that we are making a 5.5 inch version. There will be 66 5.5 inch Kathathus made - 16 more than of the 9 inch. We are taking orders now and will probably begin shipping in late February/early March. The retail on these is $330. Please email direct to creeve@micron.net if you want to put your name on the list.

This is not the only new product coming from CRK --- start learing to say Mnandi!..........

Ok, give it up, tell us what "Mnandi" means.

Notice, I have not asked you to reveal any information regarding your new product, as you will obviously do that on your time table; but please relate the English translation and let us have some fodder for consideration.

Unless I'm mistaken, Mnandi is Zulu for Wharncliff?

Whatever it is, I have some on order. Since I'm not going to make it to the SHOT Show, I guess I'll just have to wait 'till it's over to see a picture of it.....bummer.

Also a half dozen, or so, of the 5.5" Kathathus. I've been waiting for these knives. I just KNEW they would make them...they had to.

Now, for the 4" model.... Good things come in three's you know.

Hey Dennis, just goes to show you that I really am the personification of the old addage that if one goes to college long enough - he can get educated beyond his intelligence!

Nah. I've dealt with some of those folks & I read your posts. You're not even close to EBYI.

Everyone hiccups now & then. You just happened to do it in an environment with an overabundance of folks who can't pass up the chance to yell "GOTCHA".

Learing was nothing other than finger trouble (and I suffer from that a lot

) but your interpretation is fine by me!!

Jerry/Yake your translation is close, where did you get it?

The translation from Zulu for Mnandi that we have is "nice, tasty, pleasant" - generally referring to an item (or person!) rather than food.

More later....!
Anne

Anne,
I used my favorite search engine "google" and it gave me this site www.lantic.co.za/~maritza/mnandi%20bloedlyn.htm were they stated their dogs name was Mnandi (Nan-dee) and was "Zulu for agreeable/ gentle". In a later search I also found a South African chicken restraunt named Mnandi that stated mnandi=tasty. You all certainly know more about the Zulu language than I ever will.

Kinda like the academy. If I hang around here for four (4) years, do I get a ring to knock?

I grew up in Swaziland as my parents were missionaries there for quite a few years. They both speak fluent Zulu and my brothers and I know a little (very little). When we ate something that was very tasty and enjoyable my Dad would always say that it was (not sure about the spelling) "Goo-Mnandi-Gabi".

I would suggest that a good name for a knife would be (not sure of the spelling again) "Sheesa or Sheesa-Gabi"
