Kathy is a wonderful woman, has stuck with me through thick and thin. However, just before church Sunday I leaned over and, commenting on a guy's Duck Dynasty shirt (yeah, we're not very formal there) I told her that I thought I would grow a Duck Dynasty type beard. She smiled sweetly and said, "Bye."

I'm not going to test her.

Thought the same thing when I retired but it came in more white than brown and after day 3, my wife (Pat) started sleeping on the edge of the bed. Message was subtle but received loud and clear.

I've been growing one since I got out in February, but I'm in Afghanistan and she can't stop me. :)

She did say that I have a week to shave it all off when I get home, or she's packing it in. Understandable, since it'll be a year with no shaving/trimming/hair cuts when I get back.

My job won't allow a beard, and my wife threatens to leave me if I DON'T grow one soon. She likes me dirty and hairy, I'm a lucky man!

I can understand why back and chest hair is considered attractive, but never figured out why facial hair would be.

My wife doesn't like my gotee to long. After about 2 inches of growth she kind of points at it and says is your trimmer broke? I'll get you another if you need it. :)

She is only kidding, she knows your the greatest. :D

i was going for it i had not shaved since blade show. but i broke down and got rid of it. i think ill start back up again when the weather gets colder.

Oh, make no mistake, she likes my current beard. In fact, when I grew it after retirement and told her two months later it was time to shave it of, she was insistent I keep it. It's the Uncle Cy look she can't handle.

A wise man

I'm not sure I would test her either, even though I think that you would look pretty dapper with a beard like that.

Maybe she could learn to like it and braid it and comb it for you.

I got it the opposite , no matter what I do my wife tells me it looks good, even when I know it does not, I started asking my sisters opinion instead, I think my wife likes me to look like a jerk:)

I stopped shaving for 2.5 years after I got out the Army. Then I had to get a Refinery job.....and they don't like the fuzz.

So since my knee surgeries dating back to March, I have yet to shave. So I have a nice formal tux photo at my friends wedding and also I am attending the Red Dress Run this weekend in New Orleans.....i will look like a bearded woman......in a dress.....a red one.

make sure you have some respect for your beard and yourself. it does not matter what you are wearing. be it charhart or utilikilt's, wear them both proud.
