Son and I took his kayak with improvised trailer to a nearby creek

The trip was grueling pulling along a powerline trail, We both pulled but someone had to take the pic.

The trip back took us through more rough terrain.

All in all a good trip but the portage was a bit much!!!

Nice pics - looks like a good time. How far was the walk to the water? I don't have any wheels for my kayaks, I usually end up with it on my shoulder, but that's a lot easier with a kayak that you sit inside. My sit on top is pretty darn hard to carry by myself for any distance. I end up dragging it. It's got holes so I'm sure I could rig up some sort of shoulder strap if I really wanted to.

What kind of pack is that you have on?

The trailer was improvised from an old bike trailer, The pack is a 511 24hr Rush.

Man, I've really seriously been thinking about getting a kayak finally. I've been loading, unloading, and portaging a canoe by myself for years. I think a kayak would suit me alot better. Looks like fun! BD

I was actually wondering what that was at first, too.

Cool pics, looks like a good time

The portage was about 3/4 of a mile or more.
The head is a buck skull, the antlers were sawed off.
The creek is shallow(waist deep) in the area we were in with slow current.
