My Kayak knife. Had to had some color. Dipped the handle and it feels awesome. Will be removing the black coating

This is my kayak knife, and one of my most favorite folders of all time.

Ok I was pretty sure it wasn’t RIT dye but also thought about plasti-dip but figured it would muddy the detail in the handle and yours still looks crisp.

If you kayak in rough water you may want a blade with a blunt tip. There have been some serious leg accidental injuries cutting a kayaker out of their craft in an emergency.

I carry both a pointy and rescue knife on my pfd. Pointy is Native Salt and rescue knife is a Benchmade rescue hook.

There is a product, plasti-dip, that is a rubber/plastic for coating tool handles or whatever else. It’s offered as a liquid in a can or in an aerosol spray.

Oh gotcha. Pretty clever! Guess you can make any knife scales whatever color then. Do you apply a clear coat after? How does it hold up?
