I posted this in a subforum, but wanted to post here as well. It's a little scary soaking a new blade in acid then tumbling it with rocks from the backyard, but I think it came out pretty good.

I didn't see this until just now. I did sharpen it, but it was on a Work Sharp field sharpener using the fine stone and ceramic rods. I really need to make a decision on an affordable sharpening system that is better quality.

Looks like you did a good job there. I usually nick up the front of the handle down there by the choil when I sharpen mine. (I've got the same model.)
 
This mod looks great. I grabbed one as a gift in June, and I hope they release this edition in the mini Bugout eventually.
