Kill Devil on order! I would sure like to see what you guys have for sheath systems on your hawks. I see our friends David Brown and Al Welke are both producing these. Anybody got 'em, or another you really like? Pros/Cons, lay it out there.

Ive got one thats kind of a frankenstein sheath with shock cord. Fits the Kill Devil image well but its no David Brown sheath. He makes great stuff. Knocks.......your going to love your new KDSH!!! One of my top 3 most used and favorite blades!! INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!!!!!

Here is the one I do, all above makers are great choices as well!

Man I know you're right. I've held off on this one for too long.

And just so that I'm clear guys, I've got kydex from Eric, Dave and Al, as well as others. All three produce excellent products and have great customer service, so I have ZERO reservation about using them. The only reason I threw this out there for the Kill Devil is that it is such a different animal, I wanted to know if there was anything about carry method, deployment, resheathing, belt or pack attachments, etc. that I might need to know, that you guys have already dealt with by experience.

Here's one I just picked up. It's a David Brown. Haven't carried it yet or really used it but its a perfect fit! Your going to love your KDSH!

Pretty sure Eric made the optional sheaths for the first M/O KDSH's. Those are what I have, and after the modification he made to keep them better secured (the semi-circular cutout at the bottom, pictured in his post above), they are great sheaths!

I was going to share mine that is in a Buy Brown sheath, but neither the wife nor I can find it. :o I'm hoping it will make a reappearance soon! Mine looks a lot like Paintguy's, but with black micarta handles.

Here's a pic of ours with a maxpedition strap and pad set up :)

Loving all those ganza hawks guys.

Hey Al, is the left sheath unflared, but the right one flared? And is the flaring by request? Thanks for the pics.

Flaring is on body side of each sheath. Helps to re sheath. :)

I'll bet that works great, and still leaves a nice clean look to the face. I'm liking that belt attachment on the camo sheath as well. Very nice!

Eric does indeed make great stuff, but you may want to send that one back in for some updates to look like the one he posted in this thread. Otherwise you may get an unexpected poke from your beloved KDSH, and not in a good way…. ;)

Yes, could be very bad. I posted a thread about it way back when these first came out. The new version is good to go though.

Did you ever find yours Tim? I don't even have mine yet but I'd be going nuts if it ever goes missing. I decided to go with Al for the Kill Devil. I haven't bought from him in awhile, so it was time. On another note, I received a sheath from Eric for the drop-point RT the custom shop did for me and it is top-notch as always.

Can't go wrong with any of those makers or a good ole' drop point, congrats…. :)
