How are these knives similar, how are they different? Does each excel at different things? Your input would be most appreciated!

They are similar in lengths, handle and blade (the KE Bushie is a tenth of an inch shorter by design). The Bushcrafter is wider with more belly and a blunter tip. Both are intended for the same purpose, bushcrafting. It really comes to personal taste and which one looks better to you.

Check out post #4 and post #18 in the models and specs thread. The pics really help.

Another way to sum it up would be in your priorities in Bushcraft. If your focus is in all around, and game processing is a part of it, I'd go with a Bushfinger as it has more belly to work with in dressing out big game.

If you are more into the carving, whittling, and detail type work, I'd suggest the K.E. Bushie, it has a narrower blade and thus a finer tip with less belly

You've all been most helpful! Thank you! I was looking for an all micarta KE Bushie to start carrying full time. I have had trouble finding one (or should I say beating everyone to it!). I found a suitable Bushfinger on Ebay and decided to buy it, based on everyone's input. Thanks again! Can't wait!

I love the KEB. But, to me this is a true bushcraft knife. Can you use it for game processing and kitchen work? Sure, but that's not what it's intended for, it's not going to do it well or as well as another blade. The bushie is solely meant for demolishing the bush, and it does it well. The BF is the all around outdoor knife. It does bushcraft, game processing, and is great in the kitchen. It's pretty much one of the best all around fixed blades you can buy.

I know I'd like either one. You probably can't go wrong... But, an all around knife is what I want!

I saw that last Friday - wow, you guys are fast! Fortunately, what I was looking for didn't show up and I didn't have to do anything but watch. :)
