Anyone have any experience with Keens hiking boots ??

I've got a pair of Keen Rockport sandals, and I can't even tell you how much I love these things..

Going on my third season with them,, and other than a couple of days I've worn them all winter...

People look at me as if I'm insane..

I just find these sandals so bloody comfortable,, I don't want to wear anything else...I basically wear them 7 days a week....

And because of the antibacterial footbed,, They Don't Stink!! Honest... :)

I feel the same way about Keens. I have a pair of sandals, and wear them all the time.

I've tried on the boots though, and for some reason, they didn't feel good.

I like everything about them, except the fit, which is surprising. I'm thinking about just buying a pair and breaking them in, I'm sure with Keen, they'll feel good.

If you get some, let us know how you like them.

I ordered 2 sizes of the Targhee boots and found the fit unacceptable. Otherwise, I buy a new pair of Newport H2 sandals every year. I've worn out 2. I'm working on number 3, number 4 on order. I have around 7 or 8 pair of Keen shoes. Love them. I think the last used on some models, including the Targhee, is not right for my foot.

Yeah, I like their sandals as well, but I've gone over to Vasque for my lightweight hiking boot requirements.

I have the Targhee II's and like them, but they are really only used for relatively easy hikes with my dog so I can't speak to their durability for heavy duty use.

I use other shoes for more difficult terrain.

i haven't tried the Targhees but i have a pair of Brooklyn Mids that are the best shoes i've owned

i'd probably wear sandals every day too, if i could

As a geologist, I have worn out many pairs of hiking boots. Hands down the best I have ever had are Raichles.

I do have a really decent pair from Cabelas, also.

For heavy use, only get boots with steel shanks. The nylon ones will break down long before the boot is worn out.

I owned Raichle's for years but during a trip to Alaska they hurt my feet so badly that I traded 'em in for some fabric/leather boots and was MUCH happier.

For a nice supportive leather boot that is very comfortable, take a look at the LL Bean "Cresta" model. I've had excellent experience with them over the years.

I have the sandals and a pair of shoes. Both good products, and I wear them both frequently.

Something about Keen going into hiking boots doesn't sit right with me. I'd rather go to another manufacturer for boots.

I had Vasque Sundowners. I couldn't even lace them tight enough for support cuz the rivets dug into my anklebones. I used them for work boots, and twisted the same ankle TWICE in the same week on pavement. Both were the worst sprains i've ever had, and I sprain my ankles alot. I almost puked and passed out the second time, and the pop was so loud i heard it through my earplugs over the wood chipper!
I believe Vasques hate humans.

WHat I like best about them is that I can wear them tight or loose. A lot of room for my wide foot and good cushioning.

I wear Keen H2s all the time and was glad that I got the boots as well.
