Was experimenting with some new color/designs. Came up with this so I put it on a satu sheath to see what it would look like. I can't decide if I like it or not. What do you guys think? Keep it and keep trying the general idea or toss it and move on :)
Thanks for looking

I like it. Looks cool. Like it's infected. I think it goes with the Grayman just right.
Thanks for sharing.

Keep it. I would add more of that texturing to the whole sheath. That would look cool.

I think it looks fantastic!! Gothic art

Care to elaborate on how you acheived this texture?

KEEP IT!!! It is what it is. A very distinctive one of a kind sheath. Well made and looks to be very serviceable. Don't screw with it any more, it's fine just the way it is. On to the next project!

Thanks guys I decided to see how the finish holds up and am going to wear it for a while.
And to answer question on how I did texture... All ii did was take the already molded piece of leather add a little water to case it again and pound it onto a cinder block with a hammer :) then I added the black antique paste to entire thing. Finished it off with a few coats of clear lac.
I tried a few sample pieces first to find the best spot on the cinder block. Also tested with different types of "resist" prior to antique. Ended up not using any resist. And seams like the results where a little different each time.

Umm, err, I edit my comment because I just realized I only have 7 posts to these forums. How about- I think you have a good idea! Looks like it'll work for the Zombi Apocalypse crowd. :foot:

I'm with everyone else... keep it.. looks very cool and I can some pretty great applications for it (think Bonsai). I'm on the fence about needing more or moving on, I think I would just move on... So yes...

Keep it, if not I'll take it and the pretty knife to!!!

I say junk it...that stuff growing on the front of it is likely to spread....on your hands, arms....up into your face.....not a pretty site....
Nice job, I like it.

Not really Zombie... I just don't see it... I'm seeing more Darkman or Sam Jacksons face in xXx... burnt... not decomposing... but thats just me

Keep it. It looks good. And it's not always easy to come up with fresh ideas or methods to acheive a certain look.

Good job!

Looks pretty cool for that style. For anyone wanting to try various types of texturing I have scene projects with guys doing this by using the same method with asphault, driveway concrete, bricks, whatever type of hard material that has a distinctive texture that you can find. Just make sure the medium is relatively clean to keep stuff from getting into the leather.
