I have a Glock 23 which is like new, I like it but I love 1911's I have a Kimber TLE II and am looking for a more compact carry 1911 that still takes full size mags, what do you guys think?

any compact 1911 will accept full size mags.

there isnt much market for a used glock, you will take at least a 20% loss. i would say keep the glock, and save for the kimber.

"Colts and Kimbers are what you show your friends. Glocks are what you show your enemies"

I have a G22 and G27 and love them both, but then again you don't need to be sold on Glocks.

J---Dat's a Good one!! ;)
I traded my H&K P-9s for a Glock 17. No regrets!

Get the Kimber!! I LOVE 1911's, and I am a huge Kimber fan! Get the Kimber!! Did I mention to get the KIMBER?!:D:D:D:D:D

Are there any others at about $1k or less that are better than the CDP II? Also, are the bushingless barrel'd 1911'S a pain to maintain?

True, BUT be careful if you do a slide lock reload. Usually, the magazine will go higher into the mag well and lock up the slide. Sometimes it's an easy fix by pulling down on the mag, but it all depends how hard you jammed it in there in the first place.

Do Glocks have that problem?;)

Nope !

Remember, tho, that the shorter framed 1911's are a fairly recent developement, being introduced in 1985. I don't think even JM Browning foresaw what would happen to his basic platform 74 years later, so I think we can forgive this one oversight!

yes, one can absolutely over seat a full size glock magazine in a compact/subcompact.

Keep your Glock 23...Everyone should have at-least one Glock pistol.:D.

If you don't like the Kimber you can always go back to a Glock. My brother had problems with his Warrior, it would shoot two round bursts. Kimber promptly repaired the issue and returned the pistol with a complimentary magazine.

I wouldn't trade either of my Glocks for two of the Kimbers or two of a great many others for that matter. I've tried a lot and had many three times the price of these Glocks but they weren't half the pistol. But thats just me personally speaking.

How does one extend that "problem" to shoot 3 round bursts?:D

i had that too. it was the result of a worn sear.

also have a glock that likes to go to slide lock when there are still rounds in the mag.

nothing is perfect, but the glock's reputation is well deserved as an ultra reliable pistol.

I have both Kimbers and Glocks. I carry Glocks and play with Kimbers. Your G23 has 13rds of .40 while the Kimber has 7 or 8rds. The Glock is more reliable out of the box and lighter than the Kimber. For me its a slam dunk.
