I had a little piece of M390 left over from a custom order so I decided to make me a little EDC. I find it hard to believe that a steel that finishes this easy will hold an edge as long as everything I've read says it will. We shall see.
Its 6" overall, 1 & 3/16" wide, & 1/8" thick. 2&7/8" from tip to scales. The Amber Jigged bone handle is 3 & 1/8" long. I"m running it at HRC-62 with a full flat grind and a 400X belt finish.
Let me know what y'all think.

I think that is a great looking and very practical knife. I think that you could sell a lot of them. You don't see that many stag knives these days.

That's a great little knife Darrin. Nice scales and nice profile. Should be really handy.

Nice!! Nothing goes to waste in a proper knife shop :) I know you said the handle scales are jigged bone, but it looks a lot like amber stag at first glance and even on a closer look for that matter...any idea what kind of bone it is? Just a little curious since I really do like the look of it and I think it makes for a beautiful edc handle! Well done:thumbup:

Trade ya Darrin!!

Looks to be a super all around profile and I'll sure be curious about your take on an M390 edge at that hardness AND a normal cutting geometry.

Love the scales and how they were handled (yeah it's a bad pun - deal). Looks rock solid from here.

Actually glad you're keeping this one as I might get to finger it at DG's place before too long. Always look forward to visiting with you again!

Thanks guys.

Dozier-I look forward to meeting you. Hopefully soon.

Mike-It does look like Stag don't it. Its actually Amber Carved Stag bone from Culpepper.

Nick-Oink oink. HEHEHE

Andy-I'll bring it to Dan's so you can molest it all you want.

Chad-I'm gonna have a buddy make me a Kydex sheath with a Tek-Lok and carry it point up & edge out on the left strap of my overalls which I wear 99% of the time. I would rather see this thing wearing leather pants but I wanna use the heck outta this thing and I want it as handy as possible.

Darrin, that's really cute, and looks useful as all get-out. What a knife should be.

John
